Easy meditation

Like me a lot people find it difficult to meditate, out of we all live in a way where it is very uncomfortable to let our minds quiet even for a second. For all those people like me who are having this problem I thought I would share a simple meditation that I do that has helped me shhh my brain for a wee bit.

I will give this to you in steps so here we go

Step one:

Find somewhere where you wont be disturbed.

Step two:

Be in comfortable clothing, because the last thing you want is to be sitting there fixing your clothes every two seconds.

Step three:

Get comfy whether that is sitting legs crossed/sitting in a chair or even laying down make sure you are comfortable.

Step four:

Take a few slow deep breaths, this is you getting started on slowing down and becoming calm.

Step five:

Close your eyes and begin to relax each part of your body starting from your feet and working your way up to your head. spend a bit of time with each body part making sure you are totally relaxed and have released all the tension.

Step six:

Once you are in a state of relaxation begin a count down from 100 to 0. This helps your mind from wandering off and thinking. But if you do wander off into thoughts don’t be angry or frustrated. Just allow the thoughts to pass by like watching a cloud in the sky.

Step 7:

Once you hit 0 , begin again but from 30 to 0.

Step 8:

once you have created your wee bubble of silence in your mind , just enjoy the moment. You will know when to stop.

There you have it , a simple meditation to get you started. The best advice I could give with meditation is don’t force an experience just allow yourself to be in that moment. The more you force it the further away it shall be. And always have fun and enjoy doing it
